Last night 3/21/23 , a peaceful gathering turned chaotic as several drunken guests disrupted a quiet protest outside La Poubelle Bistro & Bar. The protest was in respect of a “celebration of life” for Angela McCluskey, who passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 64 due to an arterial tear, according to her friend of 25 years, Julie Panebianco.
The quiet protest, organized to honor McCluskey’s memory, took a disturbing turn when intoxicated individuals began harassing the attendees. Witnesses reported that one man, in particular, was seen bribing people to leave the protest. He allegedly offered money to protesters in an attempt to convince them to disperse.
As the night progressed, the situation escalated further when Magnus Fiennes started forcing what appeared to be fake $100 bills into the hands of protesters. It remains unclear whether the restaurants were also affected by the circulation of these fraudulent bills.

The disruptive behavior of the drunken guests marred what was meant to be a peaceful and respectful gathering. Attendees expressed disappointment and frustration over the incident, highlighting the irony of such disruptive behavior during a celebration of life event.

La Poubelle Bistro & Bar has not issued a statement regarding the incident at the time of this report. The organizers of the quiet protest have not indicated whether they plan to take any action in response to the disruption.
The use of fake money and the harassment of peaceful protesters cast a shadow over what should have been a solemn occasion. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by those seeking to peacefully protest and commemorate the lives of loved ones.
